How can we promote green building certification standards in developing countries?

Establishing green building certification systems in any country is a great step to reducing environmental impacts of buildings. Developing countries have delays to accept the green building concept because of some major reasons such as lack of education, low energy prices and higher initial costs, etc. Meanwhile  they are the most vulnerable to climate change and their economic growth is more dependent than advanced economies on natural resources .

This session will present ongoing practices and domestic actions in building and transportation sectors of developing countries. Outcomes of going green in economic, environment and society for these countries will be reviewed. In order to tackle of obstacles some strategies such as shifting research and training priorities toward green technologies and innovations shall be implemented. In addition global community can help others in some ways such as facilitating  trade  of  environmental  goods  and  services.
